2027 Competitive Travel Team

*teams are selected by tryout selection only

Mesick Buckley Youth Soccer Association is proud to expand opportunities for young athletes through our Spring 2027 Competitive Travel Soccer Program. Designed for players who are ready to take their passion for soccer to the next level, this program provides a more challenging, structured, and competitive environment that emphasizes individual player development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Unlike recreational soccer, our competitive travel program focuses on advancing technical skills, improving tactical awareness, developing game intelligence, and preparing athletes for higher levels of competition. Players will participate in organized practices, skill-based training, and competitive matches against teams from other communities throughout Northern Michigan.

What Makes Our Competitive Program Different?

Our goal is not simply to build winning teams, but to develop well-rounded athletes who understand the value of hard work, accountability, commitment, and respect for the game.

Through our competitive program, athletes will have the opportunity to:

Advance Technical Skills: Develop stronger ball control, passing accuracy, shooting techniques, defensive positioning, and overall confidence on the field.
Build Tactical Awareness: Learn formations, positioning, decision-making, and how to work effectively as a team in competitive situations.
Experience Higher-Level Competition: Compete against other affiliated youth soccer organizations throughout Northern Michigan, gaining valuable experience against a variety of opponents.
Develop Leadership and Sportsmanship: Strengthen communication, responsibility, teamwork, and resilience both on and off the field.
Prepare for Future Opportunities: Build a foundation for continued participation in competitive soccer, including middle school, high school, and other advanced playing opportunities.

Competitive Team Selection & Expectations

Our Spring 2027 Competitive Travel Program will offer U/10 and U/12 Coed Teams, with roster positions determined through a structured tryout and player evaluation process.

Unlike recreational registration, participation in competitive soccer is not guaranteed. Players will be evaluated based on technical ability, effort, coachability, teamwork, and overall readiness for competitive play.

Athletes selected for a competitive roster are expected to demonstrate consistent commitment to scheduled practices, games, and team activities. Because competitive soccer relies heavily on team chemistry and preparation, regular attendance and a positive attitude are essential.

League Play & Tournament Opportunities

Our competitive teams are being developed with the goal of participating in organized travel league competition through the Northern Michigan Soccer Alliance (NMSA), providing athletes the opportunity to compete against other affiliated clubs throughout the region.

Additionally, we are planning for our competitive teams to participate in the Spring 2027 Cherry Capital Cup, hosted by Traverse Bay Area Youth Soccer (TBAYS), where athletes can experience tournament-style competition against teams from other communities.

*League and tournament participation are subject to affiliation approval, team acceptance, and applicable eligibility requirements.
